Phil Horton
Environment and Sustainability Manager –
Royal Yachting Association
Sustainable boating for cleaner, healthier waters and the work of “The Green Blue”
Phil manages the RYA’s Environmental and Planning Team at the RYA. As part of his role he supports The Green Blue programme and oversees the development and delivery of the RYA’s Sustainability Strategy which was published in 2020 and recently published the RYA’s Carbon Pathway to Zero Report in Sept 2021.
Phil is a Chartered Engineer with a MSc in Environment and Development. He worked for 12 years at the Centre for Alternative Technology in the information department and latterly as Project Manager for the award-winning Wales Institute for Sustainable Education building. He has spent several years working for a renewable energy workers’ co-op focused on wind, solar and hydro developments before joining the RYA as the RYA in 2018
